Grant agreement

Also called: award agreement, equity grant letter

In one line

The document that spells out the specific terms of your individual equity award — amount, vesting, strike price and conditions.

In plain English

Your grant agreement is your personal equity contract: how many shares or options, your strike price, your vesting schedule, and any special clauses. It's the second key document after the plan itself.

If you were explaining it to a 5-year-old

Your own personal note from the club saying exactly how much chocolate you'll earn, when, and the price to claim it.

Why it matters when you sell

It holds the numbers you need to value and plan a sale: your share count, strike and vesting status.
