Regulation A+

Also called: Reg A, Reg A+, Regulation A

In one line

A US exemption allowing smaller public-style offerings to ordinary investors, sometimes used for retail access to private shares.

In plain English

Reg A+ lets companies raise limited amounts from the general public with lighter requirements than a full IPO. It's occasionally used to widen who can buy into a company.

If you were explaining it to a 5-year-old

A rule that lets the club sell a limited number of toys to everyone, not just badge-holders β€” a mini public sale.

Why it matters when you sell

Reg A+ can occasionally broaden the buyer pool for certain shares, though it's uncommon for typical employee secondaries.
