SEIS (UK)

Also called: seed enterprise investment scheme, SEIS

In one line

The UK's even more generous early-stage version of EIS, offering larger tax reliefs for investing in very young companies.

In plain English

SEIS targets the earliest startups, giving investors the biggest UK tax breaks for the highest-risk stage. Like EIS, it mostly shapes the investor side of the cap table.

If you were explaining it to a 5-year-old

An even bigger British tax reward for grown-ups who back the tiniest, newest clubs.

Why it matters when you sell

SEIS influences who invests at the earliest stage, shaping the cap table and investor base around your shares.
