Good leaver
Also called: good-leaver clause
In one line
A departing employee who keeps favourable equity treatment — for example leaving on good terms, through redundancy or retirement.
In plain English
'Good leaver' status, common in European plans especially, lets you retain vested equity (and sometimes buy it at fair value) when you leave on agreed, amicable terms.

If you leave the club nicely — not breaking any rules — you get to keep the toys you've earned.
Why it matters when you sell
Whether you're a good or bad leaver can determine how much equity you keep to sell, so it's vital to understand before departing.
