Series C (and beyond)

Also called: Series C, late-stage round

In one line

Later growth rounds (C, D, E…) that fund scaling, acquisitions or a run-up to an IPO.

In plain English

By Series C and beyond, a company is usually well established and highly valued. These are the late-stage rounds that create the big 'unicorn' valuations, and the shares secondary buyers most want.

If you were explaining it to a 5-year-old

Even bigger batches of coins to help the already-successful club grow huge, maybe before it opens a real shop.

Why it matters when you sell

Late-stage names attract the most secondary demand, so if you hold shares in a Series C+ company, a sale is often more feasible.
